The Rt Hon Ken Macintosh MSP, MSP for the West of Scotland and Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, has added his support for the 10th National Apprenticeship Week 2017 campaign,
Mr Macintosh visited Getronics, a global ICT company with offices in Inchinnan, to meet some of the company’s modern apprentices and learn more about the opportunities available to them at Getronics. Apprenticeships with Getronics ranged from 1 to 3 years in length and offer a number of different qualifications in association with QA Apprenticeships. Over the past 18 months the company has strived to promote apprenticeships and expanded their programme from two apprentices to thirteen.
Following his visit to Getronics, the Ken said:
“It was a real pleasure to meet such an impressive group of apprentices and I would thank Getronics for the opportunity they have offered these talented young people. It is essential that we continue to promote vocational learning and to demonstrate that apprenticeships hold out the prospect of a career path which is accessible and which will lead to success. The apprentices at Getronics were clearly bright, motivated and ambitious to get on and it was impossible not to be struck by their enthusiasm and ability. I want to thank everyone at Inchinnan Getronics and their partners QA Apprenticeships for supporting this programme and for helping mark National Apprenticeships Week 2017.”
